Prof. Bala Dogo is a practical development worker-cum Lecturer/Researcher of over 3 decades experience. He co-founded Care & Action Research (CaRE-NGO). CaRE-NGO is into functional literacy delivery, environmental issues like reclamation of degraded land, climate-smart organic agric, climate change mitigation, etc. He is presently a Lecturer with the Dept of Geography & Sustainability Studies, Kaduna State University. He has worked with University of Jos, Nigerian Defence Academy & now with KASU. He is the first tenured Professor in Kaduna State University. He, at various times, was HOD, Geography Dept. NDA; HOD, Geography; Dean, Fac of Science, Dean of PG Sch & former member of the Governing Council of KASU. He has served as a Resource Person/ Consultant to CODESRIA, Dakar, Senegal, World Bank, UNDP, UNICEF, Federal & State Ministries of Education, Health, NUC, etc. He has published and travelled very widely to Niger, Ghana, Togo, Benin Republic, Kenya, India, Ethiopia, Israel, UK, USA, Japan,etc. He is happily married with 3 Children and one Grandchild.
